Frequently asked questions

What is E-Counseling and is it right for me?

E-Counseling goes by many names such as e-therapy, online therapy, e-counseling, and telecounseling. This type of counseling is when your counselor meets with you online through Skype, Facetime, Zoom or a similar online portal. E-Counseling means you can have a professional counseling session from the comfort of your own home or any private setting where you have a reliable internet connection. E-Counseling is convenient. It removes many scheduling conflicts as sessions can be organized from your school/home/office. It also takes away the hassle (or apprehension) of going to a counseling center/clinic. For those who are ambivalent or uncomfortable with the thought of meeting in a counselor’s office, it is often the preferred medium. In fact, there is ample evidence that the benefits of e-counseling may well overcome the barrier that prevents you from coming to a counseling centre. It makes our world smaller and our ability to connect with each other in a setting where you are comfortable.

Is my confidentiality honored in virtual sessions?

At Champion our counselors are fully qualified and have a wealth of experience. Your online session is completed with the same fidelity as if you were in a professional office setting. Your counselor is bound by levels of confidentiality which will be explained to you before you begin your first session.

How long are sessions?

Champion counseling sessions are typically either 60- or 90-minutes in duration.

Do I need to prepare for my sessions?

Initial E-counseling sessions are about your sharing and you are best served if you can be as open and honest as possible. Subsequent sessions with your counselor may have you involved in recording/ documenting specific reflections, identifying challenges, and shaping up future goals we are setting together.

How many sessions will I need?

You and your counselor will decide together on the length and number of sessions. These often vary according to need.

What if I need my counselor urgently?

At Champion we always try to meet your needs. There are times when your counselor may not be available due to prior bookings /commitments; we will make ourselves available to help as much as we can.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Payment is due at the completion of each session for drop-in sessions. Regularly scheduled clients are offered a monthly billing option. Sessions are billed in Singapore dollars (we accept cash, bank transfer or cheque). You can make cheques out to: Champion Coaching & Consulting Pte. Ltd.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Champion maintains a 48-hour cancellation policy. If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, we ask that you provide notice a full 48 hours in advance so that we are able to reschedule for another client. If scheduled sessions are cancelled less than a full 48 hours in advance, full payment will remain due.
